FEATHER IN YOUR HAT AWARD

FEATHER IN YOUR HAT AWARD

In 2010, Provincial invited all branches to apply for this award. The criteria were very general and allowed for a wide variety of achievements or contributions.

The Mississauga Branch applied for this award. We believed that the launch of a website was a great achievement.

Happily, we were granted this award at the London Convention in 2010. Carol McConnell received this award on behalf of the membership. It was suggested that winning Branches may wish to carry on the tradition by recognizing members for their accomplishments. (These could be for contributions within or outside RWTO).

Our Branch decided to follow through on this suggestion with some changes. Members do not apply for the award. The most recent recipient of our Branch Feather in a Hat selects the next recipient, a member they feel is deserving of recognition for contributions to volunteer activities within RWTO or the community at large.

It is truly delightful to see the reaction of the surprised recipient as her name is announced at our Branch luncheons. It is equally rewarding to hear and see the pleasure of the past recipient as she describes the person, and the reasons for her selection.

Double the pleasure and double the fun!

As a result, to date, the hat/fascinator has been passed to YVETTE NEHOU , DEBBIE KING, MARY McDONALD, ANNE DOWLING, PAT MORONEY, CAROL GIBSON, LOUISE McKAY, JUDY PUTHERBOUGH, KAREN ALEXANDER, JACKIE FINLAY, ANNE REEDIE, CHRIS MAC DOUGALL, DOROTHEA PHAIR, LINDA KENNY.. Congratulations to these ladies. They are, most definitely, caring, sharing and having fun.

Who do you think will be our next recipient?
